|
| Once again
the Training & Development Sub Committee organized a tea talk entitled
"Personal Taxation under Self Assessment System (SAS)" on 30th
October 2004 at PAAM office. The talk was delivered by the enthusiastic
speakers Mr. Kenny Cheah and Mr. Gilbert Ng who are also PAAM'S members.
Sharing their experience as Chartered Accountants, both of them elaborated
and explained in depth what are needed to know about SAS with comprehensive
notes touching on the Objective; Mechanism of tax estimation & variation
of installments; Tax computation, relieves & rebates; Tax Audit &
Penalties, etc. Even though the number of turnout was slightly less than
expected, those present definitely found the talk beneficial. Each of the
participants was presented with a complimentary reference book entitled
"2005 Budget Commentary & Tax information" which was jointly
published by MICPA (The Malaysia Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
MIA (Malaysia Institute of Accountants) and MIT (Malaysia Institute of Taxation).
This half day seminar had provided us with clearer understanding of SAS
as well as providing us the resources for future reference. And for those
had missed and wish to know more about SAS you may also visit lembaga Hasil
Dalam Negeri Malaysia's website at http://www.hasilnet.org.my or you may
contact the PAAM office for future talk Arrangements.
