| The President's Speech |
This
year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was successfully held on 25th
April 2004. The members essentially voted-in the last Central Committee
Members (CCM), with new faces to replace those CCM who “optionally
retired” due to other personal commitments. Your new CCM would like
to thank all of you for your trust and confidence in those who are there
to serve you.Your new CCM held a “brainstorming” session on 12th June to come out with an action plan to make your Society more meaningful specifically to you as the member, and to society in general. It was also a moment for reflection on where we are now, and where we should be heading. However, at the end of the day, our Society can only be very strong if all of us do our little bit to contribute our time and ideas. Your new CCM certainly looks forward to your inputs and feedback. In our quest to play a more active role in helping increase cultural relationships and understanding at the international level, PAAM is working towards offering to host the next World Convention of Alumni Societies. It would certainly be a great moment for PAAM and our country, if we were given the honour of hosting the World Convention. Until the next newsletter, I wish all of you SUCCESS in all your undertakings, and good HEALTH to you and your family. Thank you. A. AZIZ Y. KAMARUDDIN PRESIDENT (azizyoup@hotmail.com) |
