AOTS Nite 2003

AOTS NITE 2003
A NITE TO CHERISH FOR ONE AND ALL
Date: 18th October 2003
Time: 7pm - 11pm
Venue: MOMO Restaurant Centre Point
AOTS Nite 2001 had 70 attendees, and AOTS Nite 2002 had 90 attendees.

AOTS Nite 2003 organised by PAAM which was held on 18 October 2003 at a Japanese Restaurant in CentrePoint, Bandar Utama had 120 attendees. Guests included Mr Takeshi Ichikawa (General Manager, AOTS Malaysia), Dato' Dr Hj Mohd Mansor Salleh, Mr Masaru Aniya (Director of the Japan Information Service, Embassy of Japan), Mr Zaba Youn (President, Alumni Look East Policy Society), Mr Koh Tech Choon (President, Japanese Language Society), and Mr Yap Miew Sang (Vice President, Japanese Graduates Association).

The PAAM President in his welcoming address commented that the AOTS Nite is quite a success, with the numbers increasing year by year. We should therefore be optimistic and aim for 20 tables next year. It was good to see that the dinner was more of a family affair with many members bringing their spouses and children (Japanese food must be a real attraction for a Malaysian family!). On behalf of PAAM, the President thanked Mr Ichikawa, Ms Sharon Lim, Mr Low Kiang, Mr K.T.Khor, Sumitomo Electric Sintered Components (M) Sdn Bhd and Accot Technologies Sdn Bhd for their gifts and monetary contributions. Thanks were also expressed to all the members of the Social Sub-committee headed by Mr KT Khor, and the staff (Ms Chong Mei Pheng,
Ms Suhaila and Ms Wan Hayati) for their excellent organisation of the AOTS Nite.

Mr Takeshi Ichikawa then gave his speech, and he explained about the important roles that AOTS and PAAM play in the field of technical cooperation and training to help Malaysia towards becoming an industrialised nation.

The dinner was an informal affair, and the attendees helped themselves to the sumptuous buffet spread. After everyone had their share of the good food, it was time for some games and the lucky prize draws. The games was fun, and it was for all the family members. Everyone had an enjoyable time at the dinner.
We take this opportunity to thank Mr Johnny Yee, President of ABK/AOTS Penang and members for their message with respect to the AOTS Nite: "Congratulations and Syabas And have a wonderful AOTS Nite. Keep up the AOTS spirit in you and All the Best.
