With him in the picture are Mr. Andrew Ng, Mr. James Chong and Mr. Vincent Cheong.
Apart from getting to know the Sabah's committee members better, the purpose of this meeting was to encourage branch activities and announcing our revamped website to our Eastern colleagues.

In conjunction with the Japan Festival in Malaysia 2003, PAAM together with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has jointly organised a half day seminar on Kaizen: Improving Operation with Continuous Improvement and 5'S's. Two of the speakers for the seminar were PAAM members, Mr. Lim Eng Swee and Ms. Au Yong Hui Nee.

The program was held on 23rd August 2003 at UKM, Bangi. The program started at 9am with the first speaker, Mr. Lim Eng Swee speaking on the birth of Kaizen concepts and linkages to business environment followed by the Concept of Continuous Improvement Relationship to 5S activities by Ms. Au Yong.

The seminar drew about 180 participants, comprising mostly of UKM lecturers and students from the faculty of Business Management, apart from associates from local companies.

From the seminar, participants were introduced to Kaizen concept and methodologies and got some eye-opening ideas to guide them through to better performance and results. Participants got to learn how to implement Kaizen, 5S and QCC techniques and they also learnt new techniques on how to improve efficiency.

The seminar ended with a Q & A session at 1pm. Many thanks to Prof. Dr. Takiah Iskandar, Dean of Business Management who was the Chairperson for the seminar, Mr. Susumu Yoshida, Researcher from the Embassy of Japan and Mr. Takeshi Ichikawa, General Manager of AOTS KL who were also present on that day.
