Management Training Program In Japan

In addition to these, the selection of candidates for the yearly technical and management scholarships offered by AOTS Japan is conducted by PAAM. It screens and selects a shortlisted number of candidates for approval by AOTS Japan. These scholarship programmes are held in any one of the four Kenshu Centres in Tokyo (TKC), Yokohama (YKC), Osaka (KKC) and Nagoya (CKC). The duration of these programmes vary from two to four weeks. Below are some of the yearly programmes that have been offered:
  • The Programme for Cross-Cultural Manangement (PCCM)
  • The Programme for Company-Wide Problem Solving (CWPS)
  • The Training Course for Solving Human and Organisational Problems (SHOP)
  • The Programme for Quality Management (PQM)
  • The Quality Control Training Course (QCTC)
  • The Programme on Corporate Management for Southeast Asia (SECM)
  • The Executive Program on Corporate Management (EPCM)

In year 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2007 PAAM organised and conducted the African Entrepreneurs' Programme in Kuala Lumpur for two weeks. The Entrepreneurs Sub-Committee undertook this project and sourced expertise from local lecturers and entrepreneurs. The participants, who came from Ghana, Cameroon, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Zambia were taught different aspects of entrepreneurial skills and given exposure through plant visits on how Small Manufacturing Enterprises (SMEs) were run.

In-house Japanese courses have been conducted for various corporations like Matsushita Electronics Corporation, NEC Semiconductors, NEC Machninery, Nippon Electric Glass(M), Ingress Corporation Bhd, Tamura Electronics Sdn Bhd, Autoliv Hirotako Safety Sdn Bhd and PROTON Holdings Berhad at their premises. Company such as AEON Co. (M) Bhd on the other hand have been sending their staff to PAAM for Japanese courses.

The Entrepreneurs Sub-Committee has expanded the African Entrepreneurs' Programme to incorporate transfer of technology for entrepreneurs in the Asian region.
